Process

1. 1 Send me your idea. Gather one or more photos of the subject you'd like painted and send them to hello@emilyarrison.com.
2. 2 We'll chat about the mood, colors, subject and setting of the artwork you're looking for, as well as a time frame for when you can expect your painting.
3. 3 I'll carefully package your painting for delivery.

What will you paint as a commission?

I am happy to create paintings of people, animals, landscapes, houses, interiors, tablescapes and anything similar to a work of art that you've seen me paint in the past. I do not recreate exact copies of my previous work, but certainly am willing to create art that is similar in style and color palette.

If taking a new photo of your child(ren) for your commission, I highly recommend doing so in strong natural light (overcast or lots of shade is not ideal). Have them walk away from you, stand or dance and take lots of photos at their level. We want to capture natural childhood joy without anyone smiling at the camera (great for photographed portraits but not ideal for these paintings). I can change out backgrounds and definitely clothing colors. I am not a traditional portrait artist, meaning that I do not create paintings of posed people facing forwards. I truly enjoy how painting subjects from the side or behind invites the viewer in and creates a timeless scene.
